The topkapi palace is probably the best attraction of Istanbul. Inside you can see various different thematic areas: Dresses of the Sultan, the treasury, swords and guns in the armory, and many others. The harem was amazing. Particularly nice is the terrace with the pool and at sunset is a great place to take pictures.
Our visit to the Basilica Cistern was an overwhelming surprise as, in terms of my travel experience, we have never visited anything like it before. We had the benefit of a guide and his recounting of the Cistern's role and history added to the experience. Fortunately, there was not much of a crowd when we visited mid-morning. Definitely don't miss…
OMG!! A must to see is the Basilica Cistern. Absolutely fascinating and ingenious. Lots of tales to be told about this special place. Put this on your must see list when visiting Istanbul!
On previous trips to Istanbul we have walked pass the entrance to the Archaeological Museum simply because we thought there were more exciting ‘attractions’ to visit than an archaeological museum as a result this museum never made it onto our ‘must visit’ list, how wrong we were.
We all had a great time, plenty to see and do. What a wonderful day, thank you so much.

Topkapi Palace is a beautiful Palace and at the back there is a cafe with a great view over the Bosphorus. We all enjoyed this palace.
We visited Topkapi as part of a tour of Istanbul. What a place! Regrettably we didn’t have enough time to see all the exhibits or the harem but what we did see was simply amazing. We are already planning our next visit. Don’t miss Topkapi when you are in Istanbul.
Topkapi Palace was a nice place to look around and spend an afternoon. Certain parts were crowded (the treasury for example), taking away part of the enjoyment. My boyfriend and I are not really into visiting palaces, but nevertheless we found the grounds pleasant and enjoyed the views over the Bosphorus to the Asian side of Istanbul.
