After leaving the Archaeology Museum, you will finally have the opportunity to do some haggling at the Grand Bazaar, the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul is like any bazaar except that, as its explains, it is all within one huge building. The tour guide picked us up at our hotel, surprisingly on time. We went through all the most important sites in the Old City including Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace + Harem. He was well informed and you could tell that he genuinely enjoys his job. I would recommend to everyone! They are timely, flexible, and very accommodating.
So much to see here. Make sure you have a lot of time for your visit. There are several buildings each with different items to view – porcelain; tombs etc. All are interesting. It would be helpful if something on the exterior of each building gave more information about the interiors.
The Hagia Sophia is a great attraction that fuses east and western culture. We certainly enjoyed our visit, but it's fair to say that the very extensive scaffolding inside in the main area of the church did detract from the experience.
The Hagia Sophia was one of the best places I visited in Istanbul, with far more charm and history than the Blue Mosque.
Grand bazar is near Sultanahmet historical district , could be reached on foot in 15 minutes, a map from your hotel can be life saver. Grand Bazar consist of over 4000 stores(as noted), the area is jrpt very clean and public restrooms are providedin several location for one turkish lira, ( make sure to have one lira change ).
Hagia Sophia….absolutely breathtaking experience…a must see when you visit!
Hagia Sophia is a must for all who visit Istanbul. Takes you back to the time and era the building was made. Lots of restoration work at the moment but still truly well worth the visit.
Hay que ir a turquia u no olviden visitar istanbul junto con sus museos y mezquitas
