Hagia Sophia enshrines the history of Constantinople/Istanbul. Take your time and try to imagine past centuries, in spite of the crowd and restuarations.
Dont miss Topkapi Palace worth a visit, you can spend all day in this place, loads of smaller rooms with loads of displays and Crown Jewels excellent place
We loved exploring the Topkapi Palace, especially the Harem.
Hagia Sophia is a must see when you visit Istanbul. It is worthwhile getting one of the guides, who will whisk you past all the crowds waiting to get in and will provide you with a mine of information. Make sure he is approved by the government.
The panorama’s are breathtaking! I was fortunate to have visited the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia Cathedral and the Topkapi Palace. All three are very different, but absolutely stunning in their beauty, history and architecture. It’s a must to see, as is Istanbul and Turkey.
El mercado de las especies en istanbul me volvio loca y repetire el tour privado este año
We arranged a tour of Istanbul and Ephesus and both were top notch. Good drivers and guides, prompt service. Our guide arranged a traditional lunch for our group close to Ephesus and it was excellent, reasonable price and nice cold beer on a hot day! We were picked up at the port on time and dropped off with time to spare. I can highly recommend and feel free to contact me for more details if you like.
Hippodrome is one of the nicest places to visit in Istanbul, esp if you are looking for something hundreds of years old, yet maintained in a very clean, interesting manner. The Hippodrome is the Roman name for this place which was made for horse and chariot racing in Roman times. Classic fountains, gorgeous old trees….
On previous trips to Istanbul we have walked pass the entrance to the Archaeological Museum simply because we thought there were more exciting ‘attractions’ to visit than an archaeological museum as a result this museum never made it onto our ‘must visit’ list, how wrong we were.
Topkapi Palace it's absolutely a must-see site in Istanbul. The Palace is impressive with its different rooms and pavilions, and its lovely gardens. Do not miss the Harem which required a different entry ticket.
