The Bosphorus cruise is a must to appreciate Istanbul from the water but also to appreciate the amount of wealth that is along this sea. You see Istanbul from a different angle from the water, actually it looks busier than on land.
Hagia Sophia an amazing place. It is the size that impressed me the most. An hour was sufficient. We arrived at about 10am, mid-November so no queue for tickets. Later as we were leaving the queue was very long.
The boat trip I took there was lovely. I loved the color of the water,I've never seen such a shade of blue elsewhere,it was like ink. It's wonderful to travel between the two continents. On one side you see Europe and on the other Asia.
That’s the best way to see important parts of Bosphorus by boat which departs fm different ports. You can have drinks and snacks on board the boat.To come close to the best sights of beautiful historical buildings alongwith The Bosphorus is very important and worth to make it.
A cruise on the Bosphorus is the only way to really see the houses of the rich and famous that line its shores. It is also a lovely relaxing time.
To visit Hagia Sophia is transporting yourself to the sixth century A.D. “Hagia Sophia” means “holy wisdom”. This huge building is impressive. It was originally built as a Catholic cathedral in Constantinople (now Istanbul, Turkey) 1,400 years ago. After the year 1000, when the Orthodox or Eastern Church broke from Rome it was an Orthodox Cathedral until 1453 when Constantinople…
Grand bazaar where they sell almost everything you might be looking for. You gotta be ready to bargain all the time, the prices are very inflated because this is the most visited tourist bazaar in Istanbul. Turkish people don't buy there. The best thing I found there was 5 lira "original" football team shirts. Gotta search for this shop.
The views are excellent and the boats..
If you are in Istanbul, you have to experience the Bosphorus Cruise! They have a lot of companies offering this tour, some have half day cruises, some have night cruises and some have short cruises.
Thank you to Gokhan for sharing Istanbul with us with wonderful narratives, humor, and heart. He made our first experience in Istanbul a lasting impression. We haven’t stopped talking about our new friend Gokhan and have taken away with us a broader view of Turkey, the beautiful people, and life there in the past and the present. If you do one thing while in Istanbul, don’t hesitate to take a tour with this man….he will make your visit feel alive. Thank you for treating us Californian’s with such kinship and ease….it was a spectacular experience that we will recommend to all our friends.
