I saw this impressive palace on the Bosphorus while on a boat cruise and really wanted to see it. A couple of days later, I took a tram and joined a guided group tour.
We started our tour of Istanbul with a visit to the Archeological museum. We bought the museum pass at the gate. This will give you access to the Istanbul Archaeology Museum, Topkapi, Topkapi harem, Haga Sophia and Chora museums. The pass is very convenient and saved us about 20 minutes time of queue for Topkapi and Haga Sophia.
Having Taylan as our guide in Istanbul was the best decision. He is not only knowledgeable and experienced, but his friendly and warm manner made our visit most enjoyable. We laughed and learned, and it was more like having a friend then a guide. Taylan, I will most definitely look you up on my next visit to Istanbul! Thank you!

You have to visit Topkapi Palace, it is just wonderful and so different from European style palaces! We spent 6 hours inside and it was still more to spend if you wanted. Lovely!
Topkapi Palace is a beautiful Palace and at the back there is a cafe with a great view over the Bosphorus. We all enjoyed this palace.
