Ephesus is a great outdoor site. Lots to see , lots to learn..
It is really worth seeing. Restroom facilities at the entry are limited and very crowded. There are also restrooms near the exit and they are not crowded.
I recently visited this fantastic attraction with a friend who uses a wheelchair. Before we arrived we were concerned about accessibility but I am pleased to confirm that we managed the visit ok.
The main entrance is higher than the exit, so, on the whole, gravity did most of the work. The walkway surface is rough in some places but it is manageable and in some places there are paths made from railway sleepers. Obviously, access to the higher levels of the theatre aren’t possible, but there again I didn’t want to climb up there in the heat.
So overall, I would say that with a little help access for wheelchair users is possible and the sights are worth the effort.
I am an 85 years old senior. My right eye sight is almost gone. I was on this tour with my grandchildren and on a wheelchair assuming walking might be too hard. I still had a great time. And because the roads contained almost no hills we had no troubles with the wheelchair either.
My husband had a friend who had taken a tour with this agency couple of months ago and he especially referred to us. I use a walker on daily basis and after explaining this situation to them, they specially planned a half day tour for me and my husband. We had a lovely time with a very humorous guide.
I am an elder lady stuck on a wheelchair as well. Mİd August it was that I travelled to Turkey and while there I wanted to take the advantage of visiting Ephesus. Of course with the wheelchair it wasn’t very easy. To Marys House however there was no difficulty going.
