Jean Claude van Damme, also known as Emil, organised a wonderful tour for us from our hotel in Kusadasi to the fantastic old village of Sirince. The private tour was a highlight of our holiday. We met a very kind lady who provided a tasty lunch in her own house. The tour guide provided very good information throughout.
This is where I work and live and I love my village… the only thing which bothers me is the crowd at weekends but of course it shows how attractive it is. There are nice Hotels and Pansions to stay, small restaurants with regional food and a small bazaar selling wines. Sirince is very near to Ephesus.
We will definitely be back to Turkey! Thank you very much we really had a great time.
The tour began at approximately 8:30 and we were told it would be approximately 5 hours. We did not arrive back to port until after 2:30, so it made for a very long day.
It was a great day with so much to see in such a beautiful, clean city!
Our guide was a great guide full of historical knowledge as well as answering questions about the land and people.
I especially liked the little village Sirence that we visited. The people were so friendly and the village gave us the opportunity to purchase gifts to take home that were handmade.
We had a wonderful time and everything was a great.

We took the 20 minute drive from the ruins at Ephesus to visit this lovely little village. The drive is up a winding mountain road and you suddenly stumble across the village. Far from being untouched by tourism it is full of tourists and most of the village is geared toward this.
