When you arrive the airport of Izmir your private guide will be waiting to lead you to your own luxury vehicle, during a 40 minute ride to Ephesus, your guide gives you a brief info about the area and about the country, you can relax and enjoy the cooled soft drinks and appetizers.
As you arrive in Ephesus, you will first see the Magnesia Gate, a marvelous example of ancient architecture that once stood tall as an entrance to the city. Begin a down hill walk with your guide into the city’s ruins. The route will take you past the Odeon, the Celsus Library, the Temple of Hadrian, the Fountain of Trajan and the Great Theater. The theater, one of the city’s best-preserved monuments, it is still used today for the local spring festival. It once had seating space for 24,000 people, and it is believed to be the site where St Paul preached to the Ephesians.
Continue to Temple of Artemis one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Visit the Kirazli Village after enjoying the Turkish cuisine at lunch in the Kirazli Village, you will pick some fruits from the trees and talk of about nature of olives. These are the most spectacular ruins that we saw when visiting Turkey. If you visit the country and have limited time, these are the ruins that you should visit. There is a lot to see at these ruins and you should allow several hours. We thought that the entrance was awesome, however there were much better sights as we walked through the place.

My husband and I booked a private tour of Ephesus while we were in port for one day. We didn’t really like the tours offered by our cruise ship, so we opted for a customized tour. It only cost us about $20 more. Highly recommend.

The tour began at approximately 8:30 and we were told it would be approximately 5 hours. We did not arrive back to port until after 2:30, so it made for a very long day.
I cannot see how you can visit here without spending a full day via with a guide. A truly beautiful place worth the day. I love the ephesus is great.
