As you arrive in Ephesus, you will first see the Magnesia Gate, a marvelous example of ancient architecture that once stood tall as an entrance to the city. Begin a downhill walk with your guide into the city’s ruins. The route will take you past the Odeon, the Celsus Library, the Temple of Hadrian, the Fountain of Trajan and the Great Theater. The theater, one of the city’s best-preserved monuments, it is still used today for the local spring festival. It once had seating space for 24,000 people, and it is believed to be the site where St Paul preached to the Ephesians.

House of Mary discovered in a vision by a bedridden German nun in 1812, this stone building is believed by many Catholics and Muslims to be where the Virgin Mary lived her last years. There were folks crying and praying all over the place. Personally i could have done without it and thecrowds.
Ephesus tours was fantastic.
We were here mid march, and almost gave this a miss. On reaching Ephesus, we decided to go visit Mary's house first. Good decision. You pay your entry for the car and individuals, as you drive in. Decent parking space. There are about 2 restaurants there and clean washrooms, should you need them.
The Virgin Mary's House is in excellent repair (as are all of the Ephesus sights). Unfortunately, there is quite a bit of "touristy" bartering near the house which, for me, was not necessary.
I would recommend a private guided tour even though there are signs with explanations all along the way.
This is one of those sites where you are left feeling spiritually uplifted or just fascinated by the experience. As a site it is not full of relics or artifacts – in terms of things to see , well there is a house/chapel with a place to place candles outside and taps offering holy water to visitors.
Thank you very much for your recommendation.
聖約翰大教堂是一座位于以弗所得宏偉的教堂,后人相信是建在聖約翰的墓地上。个人认为学建筑的一定会对这教堂感兴趣。
I have been to the Mary House in Selcuk, Turkey, which is about a 20 minute taxi ride just outside of Ephessus near the docks. It's really called Mereymana and the location is actually Mount Koressos
For Catholics, this is an important site as Mary lived here — slept, ate, cooked. The Church neither confirms nor denies this information.
