We hired a taxi from Kusadasi which cost us 50 euro, it was good value as there were 3 of us and the taxi waited while we attended the open air Mass which was said in English. By the time Mass was over, the previously considerable queue for the House had reduced in size so we visited the House.
So many religious sites are overwhelmed by tour buses, but the House of mary near Ephesus is an exception. While it is a small building, there are ample spots in the vicinity to sit and reflect on Mary's role to Christianity. Shaded. Clean restrooms, and men, you'll have a great view of the valley when standing in your facility. Ephesus…
if you want to be a pilligram and get info about jesus and virgin mary it is the exact point to go. shopping is possible on the way
It's an adventure driving up the winding road to Meryemana. I have a height issue and the steep drop off scared the hell out of me. It was further exacerbated by the parade of enormous tour buses rounding the hairpin turns and in some cases actually passing cars! Eventually I closed my eyes.
Ephesus tours was fantastic. they picked us up at the ship and we began a day of absolute perfection. we had toured Ephesus before on a prior cruise and used the tour from the cruise line. This time around wanted a more personal feel to our tour. There were specific places we wanted to visit and places we wanted to go back too.
I would go back and do the same tour all over again. the amount of history, customs and real life experiences we recieved made it a very special day.
I had never heard of this place. On this trip I did visit Lourdes, France so I was curious about this location. I loved it. It was part of a tour I arranged and I am so happy I got there. The nearest airport is Izmir, Turkey. Im not religious, more spiritual and the energy was 100% love and healing….
We would not have enjoyed Turkey as much as we did if we had not taken this tour. The tour picked us up at the cruise terminal. We knew the sites we were going visit but our tour guide suggested the order to visit that would suit us best.
My husband and I had arranged the tour in advance of our arrival by cruise ship. We made the arrangements via e-mail and all of our questions were responded to quickly and professionally.
We generally book tours through the cruise line but are so glad we make the choice to do this private tour. The transportation was top of the line and our guide and driver were outstanding. We thought it was an excellent value as well.
We would definitely recommend this private tour
The tour of the ruins was quite spectacular and extensive, with a re-enactment of the gladiators at the end of the tour. The ruins were up-close, not roped off, and you could actually touch them! I was especially enamored with the library ruins.
