Well worthe the visit. Only way to get there is by taxi or walking a very steep, long way across winding roads. A taxi service that picked us up at the hotel, took us to Mary's house, waited for us, then took us to Ephesus ruins, drop us off and then came back to pick us.
we had a great time at ephesus. lovely day 🙂
Definitely worth the money to get the private tour.
We were travelling on a cruise ship with 3 couples and booked a private tour. Our tour guide Yesim was great! She was very knowledgable and could answer any question we had. Even though it was very crowded in Ephesus, Yesim seemed to get us to each place before the big crowds arrived! We would definitely recommend this company and tour guide, and Turkey of course!
Whether or not you accept Christianity or that Mary lived her last days here, it is a lovely, green peaceful (notwithstanding the visitors) spot. The church is very small and conveys a sense of tranquility and peace found in places like large cathedrals and mosques. Light a candle and leave a wish on the wall.
I arranged a tour before going on a Mediterrian cruise. We did an amazing tour of Ephesus and Sirence village with the lovely and incredibly knowledgeable guide. Thank you for a memorable and informative day!
really enjoyed it here the only problem was we were not allowed to take photos in the actual house but everything else was amazing

Such a serene peaceful visit, amazing experience. Standing in the house in prayer there is a sense of calm. Drink the water on a hot day it is so cool and refreshing besides supposed to be healing. write your prayer to join the many on the wall ( take a pen and paper along)
