We were fortunate to arrive in time for a Mass, it was so moving in such a beautiful setting. Try to arrive early before the crowds, to enjoy the tranquility.
A small house in the hill belived to be Mary's house long journey to reach there it all depends of the interest if given I choose I would not go there because up the hill taking travel time we went there because we went on a package tour
The house itself is located inside a nature preserve which was very beautiful. They claim that the entrance to the house is "free" but then they charge you almost 15 TL per person for "maintenance of the site." The house itself is now a very small church that can hold 10-15 people max.
We were very pleased with our tour to Ephesus and the Terrace Houses for sure, include this in your tour!! We were concerned because we requested it only about 5 days before we left for our cruise. They responded very quickly and we confirmed the reservation. We also appreciated that we were able to pay after the trip, so we did not have to worry about paying then no one showing up.
It was a great day with so much to see in such a beautiful, clean city!
Our guide was a great guide full of historical knowledge as well as answering questions about the land and people.
I especially liked the little village Sirence that we visited. The people were so friendly and the village gave us the opportunity to purchase gifts to take home that were handmade.
We had a terrific day our tour was flawlessly performed from start to finish.
Must be lovely to go when it's peaceful and not so many people..
We went here as a part of a tour to Ephases, as most tourist companies do. Whilst this site is a significant and holy place for Christians, particularly Catholics, I cannot believe the commercialism that exists at this supposedly, sacred place. But then again, if you have been to Lourdes, in France, where stalls sell the sacred water.
What is amazing is the way one can almost walk through the streets of the city and imagine how the city was organised in those time by seeing the ruins on both sides.
Wonderful! Yesim was a great guide. Loved everyone minute of it.
