以弗所是保存最完好的地中海東部的一个古典城市。ODEON的建筑形如小型剧场，能容纳1500人。主要功能是民意大会在此举行，可见早在两三千年前古希腊和古罗马就已相当民主了。靠图书馆处，有一家据说是第一家合法的妓院呢！
逛完整个以弗所费时2小时，但是绝对值得。经由导游的解说，才知道土耳其人用的蓝色玻璃眼珠的来源。走在大理石大道上，两旁的纪念碑，伟人雕像，及一家一家的店面，可以感受当时的商业的发达。从那座雄伟的Celcus图书馆，就可想象当时的文化水准很高。哦，还有雕了大力士的石柱也不能错过。
聖約翰大教堂是一座位于以弗所得宏偉的教堂，后人相信是建在聖約翰的墓地上。个人认为学建筑的一定会对这教堂感兴趣。
港口大道上，据说公元前400年就有照明设备了，可见那时候的科学文明发展比东方快。整个古迹城里有好多公共澡堂，老百姓除了到哪儿享受三温暖外，最主要是天南地北地谈政治。有趣！
