Turkey, wedged between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean with the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers flowing through it to Iraq, as often mentioned in the Bible, is a Cradle of Civilization and an important center of trade.
The land now called Turkey played a major role in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. The birthplace of the Christian Church may be Jerusalem, but Turkey is where the Church first thrived. Three great Apostles, Paul, Peter and John, are all linked with churches in Minor Asia (today’s Turkey). Approximately two-thirds of the 27 books in the New Testament were written to or from churches in Turkey.

It was truly amazing seeing how people used to live in this city, with everything all thought out – ventilation tunnels, cemetery, church, wells. Definitely one of the best sights in Cappadocia
It is something you don't want to miss. You will be surprised and amazed about how they manage to build this site.
I was on a group tour (very large group) and we kind of played beat the clock running through this place. I have a feeling that's the only way it happens because the passageways are so tight that you can't linger and back up the continuous flow of subsequent groups. It's amazing that people were able to survive down there…
Incredible history. Walking through the tunnels make you so aware that you cannot imagine what it must have been like. Again you realize how resilient people can be.
Caves are a key aspect of the Cappadocia region. This underground city introduces the real challenges of living and moving underground!
My wife and I went down alone with Isahn the guide into the least-touristic of the underground cities. Fascinating and spooky, but you need to be a bit athletic to see everything. And not afraid of the dark or tight places!
Es un tour que vale la pena visitar y el pais por completo la verdad que quede fascinada con todo lo que las siete iglesias sagras de la biblia fue un momento muy espiritual
Many churches to see in Cappadocia. Don’t miss the dark church, you’ll be amazed by the bright colors on the wall. The shop is great for Cappadocia souvenirs.
Cappadocia churches and houses are in caves. They are perfectly preserved and give one the feeling of what it was like to be there many centuries ago.
An interesting look at how the early Christians in Cappadocia lived. One of the major things to see.
