Antalya is a city on the Mediterranean coast of southwestern Turkey. It is Turkey’s biggest international sea resort, located on the Turkish Riviera.
In 2011 the city had a population of 964,886 and the metropolitan municipality 1,041,972. Antalya was the world’s fourth most visited city by number of international arrivals in 2011, with 10.5 million annual visitors. Antalya,
Beautiful little town with tons of shops and restaurants, a hidden gem of a place really with amazing views of the water, boats, sunset.
Plain beach. Uncomfortable that long to go down to the sea from the road. It's far from old city, and I liked more Mermerli Beach in old city.
lovely Harbour …… to get to it you do have to walk through the market so be prepared to haggle for any goods.
Kaleici (old town as is famously known) was picture perfect! the old colonial houses and the proximity to the bazaar made for a day well spent! People were friendly as always, invited us for tea at every given opportunity, but this was mostly because they wanted to spend time with our 1 year old and her full head of afro…
When visiting downtown Antalya, you MUST stop here and have a nice pic. This is one of the most representative places in this beautiful city, where you can see an amazing clash of arquitectonic styles and you can catch the vibe of this city, full of turists specially during summer.
The old city area of Kaleici was an ideal place to stay in Antalya because it has a wide variety of accommodation to suit a variey of budgets, but also is bound on two sides by Antalya's excellent tramway, has an exceptional park (Karaalioglu), shopping, eateries, historic sites and museums, narrow Ottoman streets and interesting architecture. With everything so close,…
the old town was lovely only down side for us was the constant harrassing to go into the shops and when we declined the comments why we wouldn't
I feel bad to give a poor review of the marina. Although it is a beautiful dock, the boat sellers pester you constantly even if it is the TENTH time you go by. You cannot walk without being offered boat tours constantly.
A labyrinth of small, narrow streets, packed with shops and restaurants. Lots of cheap, garish clothes, but explore and you will find nice places with antiques, handicrafts, rugs and even a second hand book shop with books in English and an owner that looks and sounds like an Old Testament prophet.
Lots of little cafes overlooking harbor that are perfect for having a relaxing drink & watching the sunset.
