Antalya,
Must visit Mermeli beach. Great swimming and snorkelling. Beds are tightly packed but …… Don' t go Sunday as it's packed. Staff attentive and restaurant very good.
the city is clean with lovely shops, resturants and bars with no hastle
When you buy something make sure you agree with the price and ask them to write the price, or else they will fool you. Try to pay always in lira (it's cheaper) and prefer to pay the exact amount as they will deceive you with the change.
loved the area very clean, tower amazing overlooking the old town hey what a high drop
This is a clock tower, i.e. a tower with a clock in it, nothing much more to say really. It is situated in the old town of Kaleici, which can get very crowded, there are loads of shops, cafes, bazaars in the area and is close to the harbour which can be accessed via a load of steps on one…
We expected this area to be buzzing with tourists as it is really pretty and there are plenty or marina restaurants but it was really dead. Worth a wander though.
great place to spend a few hours meandering along all the little side streets and bazaars. Go right down to the marina and grab a cooling drink to soak up the atmosphere
Take the old tram from Antalya westwards to the Museum Terminus (1.25 Turkish Lire) -there are great views south to the sea and west to the mountains. Down the winding road is Konyaalti beach – the is a walkway along the beach, all the way to the Aquarium and Mini City. You can hire sun beds but prices vary considerably….
It's just another name for the Old Town of Antalya.
Having said that, Kaleici is well worth a visit. The marina has many boat trip operators, but do some comparisons first before deciding which to go with.
A well intact piece of history, this leads out into the newer part of the city, where you lose the tranquility of the old part. It is well worth waiting for no one to be around to get some good pics
