Antalya is a city on the Mediterranean coast of southwestern Turkey. It is Turkey’s biggest international sea resort, located on the Turkish Riviera.
In 2011 the city had a population of 964,886 and the metropolitan municipality 1,041,972. Antalya was the world’s fourth most visited city by number of international arrivals in 2011, with 10.5 million annual visitors. Most of these tourists were changing planes or moving between the airport and the cruise lines.
Antalya,
I came here every morning for a cup of Turkish coffee (it took some getting used to, but when in Rome…) There are many lovely little restaurants, my favorite is Iskele. It's rigt on the water. Nothing beats an early morning in the marina listening to the mosque echo over the water.
At nigt everything looks different and the marina…
The oldcity is just in the centre of antalya which takes u a different place in time….wooden houses is just a piece of art… bars restaurants parks and the old marine and the amphy theatre amazing city amazing place 1 of the most beautiful city in all world……………….
A super trip, though not for the faint hearted. a walk from thecoach drop off, and its easy going down, but you eventually have to return, so a taxi from the bottom may be a great investment. If you like shopping haggle, hard. PAY in lira its cheaper, but check they are offering a decent rate, some tried to rip…
The Old Town is delightful with many bars, restaurants and shops and of course a great Roman Harbour and stunning location. In spring this is delightful and the shopkeepers are very friendly. In summer though the place is heaving and so spring and autumn are the best seasons here. Still very charming
The bazaar was average, with plenty of shops. Shopkeepers were friendly, & helpful but not very keen to haggle. Nevertheless we still managed to pick up a couple of souvenirs at a reasonable price.
in finding your way around the city. Sits right above the harbor.
With the surrounding modern buildings and the little attention that seems to be given to this important monument I was underwhelmed by the impressive gate which is actually quite well-preserved!
You can buy a 1 hour tour on boat and enjoy the beautiful view and nice sea breeze! I liked this attraction very much!
While you are walking through the Kaleici streets you feel like a you are in the antic era.I found the restoratoin of the Kaleici amazing.
just wasnt as impressive as made out to be, not many old historic things to see. lots of little shops but not many traditional shops.
