This place is big, full of history and worth the time you’ll spend. I would recommend paying for the extra ticket to visit the Harem; it was my favorite part. It also helps to visit with a tour guide, because there’s a lot to see and you’ll get much more out of the visit that way.
The treasury was my second favorite part. There was all kinds of incredible relics taken by the Ottomans from sites they conquered – really unexpected things like the staff of Moses, the sword of King David, the relics from the Prophet Mohammed and much, much more. I probably would gotten more out of it if I was Muslim. There were many things that I could not appreciate because I didn’t really know what I was looking at.
We had a private tour to Istanbul. It was a great trip with a knowledgeable and friendly guide. The private car was very clean and the driver was nice. Highly recommended.
The group had a great time in Istanbul. In all, this was the most wonderful tour.
If you are in Istanbul, you have to see Topkapi Palace. I have not had time to get around all the rooms but visited the treasury and rooms of shrines. Although that I was tired, I really enjoyed
You need to get tickets for both the palace and the harem as each is definitely worth a visit. BUT, this is a very popular tourist destination so you need to get on line early in order to beat the crowds.
I recently visited Istanbul with mt fiance for our honeymoon. Thank you so much for making our trip such a wonderful experience!
It’s always fascinating to get “under the skin” of a city — especially one with a storied history like Istanbul. Wear comfortable shoes as this is a full-day walking tour, and be prepared for a great experience.
Everyone visiting Istanbul needs to visit the Grand Bazaar. How long you actually stay there depends on whether you can stand the crowded indoor alleyways, and the very pushy shop owners It is almost, no, actually completely impossible, to browse in any of the shops.
What a stunningly beautiful palace this is! Not to mention the exotic tiling and colours and just beautiful!
Grand Bazaar.. It a compulsory trip when visiting Istanbul, but for us, our great expectations were left rather flat. The bazaar is like a large indoor shopping mall, comprised of a very large number of small shops. There is a sterile, soul-less feel to the place.
