The big tip is to try and go completely private. Many of the large tour companies offer private tour and they are going to charge a significant amount of money for the tour guide. However, many locations offer self-guided tours and therefore you have the ability to supply your own tour guide. Easily Book your guided private Ephesus tours, to see all the treasures of Ephesus Turkey. It's often said that Turkey has more ancient cities and classical ruins than does Greece. Well, it's true, and the Aegean coast holds a great number of sites, including Ephesus, the grandest and best-preserved of them all.
A visit to the Topkapi Palace affords a great insight into the life of the Sultan and more to the working of his court. Make sure that you pay the extra to visit the Harem; many who visited with us did not which made it mercifully empty of visitors.
Grand Bazaar.. It a compulsory trip when visiting Istanbul, but for us, our great expectations were left rather flat. The bazaar is like a large indoor shopping mall, comprised of a very large number of small shops. There is a sterile, soul-less feel to the place.
Topkapi Palace architecture is beautiful and the views terrific but when we were there, a good deal of the harem was closed as were the kitchens and several other parts of the museum.
There are two obelisks and the broken Serpent Column in the Hippodrome. The obelisk of Thutmosis III is impressive an appears unweathered after thousands of years.
The Grand bazaar is exactly what I imagined a Turkish market to be! Bustling with locals and tourists, haggling with shop keepers, great turkish housewares, Turkish delight etc. For those who are tired and need a rest and light bite there are small cafés, diners dotted between the shops. Take a big bag because you will not come away empty…
Hagia Sophia is stunning and awesome. A must see for any visit to Istanbul. Chock full of history from Byzantine to Ottoman. I would imagine at its historical peak the interior and the domes were covered with mosaics as sumptuous as those in the Chora church (also a must visit!!), but most have been destroyed over time or covered up.
匆匆一日游无法看完整个伊斯坦堡。下次再来土耳其时,一定要参加两或三日游,才过瘾。
There are many paramount buildings in Istanbul and one of them is Sultanahmet Mosque. You should not miss it.
Topkapi Palace amazing architecture!
To come to Istanbul and do not visit the Topkapi – simply a crime.
Wonderful exhibits open in the halls of the palace.
Will also be interesting for kids. My sons loved weapons (swords, guns).
Very crowded afternoon and on weekends, so come early in the morning on weekdays.
The Hippodrome, as it is now, isn't so much of a tourist attraction as it is a very nice park with historical columns and fountains. You are going to be right there when you go to see the Blue Mosque anyway, so you might was take it in as you go. It makes a very enjoyable route from the Sultanahmet…
