The big tip is to try and go completely private. Many of the large tour companies offer private tour and they are going to charge a significant amount of money for the tour guide. However, many locations offer self-guided tours and therefore you have the ability to supply your own tour guide. Easily Book your guided private Ephesus tours, to see all the treasures of Ephesus Turkey. It's often said that Turkey has more ancient cities and classical ruins than does Greece. Well, it's true, and the Aegean coast holds a great number of sites, including Ephesus, the grandest and best-preserved of them all.
Hagia Sophia ! Incredible ! This was the longest line we were subjected to while in Istanbul, but it was definitely worth it. I had done plenty of research beforehand, which turned out to be good because there is little to no information once inside. My recommendation: do your research on the history beforehand and just enjoy the stunning architecture.
A trip to Istanbul without seeing Hagia Sophia would be a big mistake. This place is breathtakingly beautiful. Its shear size is difficult to fathom until you are right in the centre of it. Its intricate detail in every column, the mosaic work, and its marble work (which looks like a gigantic quilt with varying patterns) makes it one the most impressive places of worship I’ve visited.
The Grand Bazaar came with high expectations! We've been hearing about it for years, and couldn't wait to visit. It was a great place to take in the history, aromas, and friendly merchants, while picking up some spices and delicious Turkish Delights, a jellied candy. It's almost the national candy!
Hippodrome area has been redone and very well the pavement's have been replaced so that no falling on loose bricks can cause a facial meeting with pavement. There are great old historical places of religion just feet's away but few seats to think about how wonderful the world could be without GREED!
The Hagia Sophia is a great attraction that fuses east and western culture. We certainly enjoyed our visit, but it's fair to say that the very extensive scaffolding inside in the main area of the church did detract from the experience.
What a great experience! I would like to return some day.
Topkapi Palace is good to walk down to see all the heritage , assets , beds , sword, there dresses then its a good to visit , also when u reach at the palace u can watch the beautiful view of asia and Europe at one point of time..
Hagia Sophia a must visit in Istanbul. Don't forget to arrange for tickets in advance as it can be very crowded. Would suggest you take privatetour.net as their guide Taylan is really good and gives detailed history of the place.
It was an absolute pleasure being guided through this wonderful city by Cansu. Her passion for the historical significance of the city was inspiring. Her knowledge of all of the sights was remarkable. And her friendly smile and sense of humour were wonderful.
I’d highly recommend the tour to anybody who visits Istanbul.
Hippodrome is definitely a sight that most people stop and see before or after visiting the Blue Mosque as it is located to the side of the mosque. There are a number of Obelisk and Columns within the Hippodrome which was in fact the site for many chariot races.
