When you arrive in the port of Izmir, your private guide will be waiting to lead you to your own luxury vehicle, your Izmir shore excursion starts as you make your way from the Izmir cruise port to Ephesus, your guide gives you a brief info about the area and about the country.
As you arrive in the ancient city of Ephesus, an important center for early Christianity. In the Book of Revelation, Ephesus was one of the seven churches addressed by Christ in a vision.
You will first see the Magnesia Gate, a marvelous example of ancient architecture that once stood tall as an entrance to the city. Begin a downhill walk with your guide into the city’s ruins. The route will take you past the Odeon, the Celsus Library, the Temple of Hadrian, the Fountain of Trajan and the Great Theater. The theater, one of the city’s best-preserved monuments, it is still used today for the local spring festival. It once had seating space for 24,000 people, and it is believed to be the site where St Paul preached to the Ephesians, your guide will also show you the many other temples during your Ephesus tour.

Visit Basilica of St John, St.John where is believed that the evangelist St. John had spent his last years in the region around Ephesus with the Virgin Mary and buried in the southern slope of Ayasoluk Hill, before returning to Izmir port where you tour concludes.

Highly recommend for his expertise and a positive can do attitude. The shops are generally too small to allow a wheelchair inside, but some goods are displayed outside.
Our guide was truly a blessing! She was knowledgeable and easy to understand. I am sorry I do not remember her name, but she was so considerate to us and to the elderly woman traveling with us. The tour of Ephesus was delightful and unforgettable for us. The vehicle we used was beautiful and very comfortable. The driver was a gentleman. This was the perfect tour for us as we only had 8 hours in Ephesus. We were picked up from the airport at 8:30am. our tour guide, Yesim, was great. una de las cosas que mas me gusto del tour privado fue que las van son realmente muy confortables y son de lujo ademas el guia que tuvimos fue muy bueno ya que hablaba espanol y se veia que conocia muy bien el lugar tenia mucho conocimiento de la historia se su pais que no nos quedo ninguna duda sobre lo que vimos… eso fue lo que corresponde a la comodidad y de el tour fue efeso y la casa de la virgen maria dentro de efeso estan las casas terrazas se ve que eran casas de lujo me gusto bastante, efeso es una antigua ciudad que la verdad me parece que esta en muy buen estado lo bueno es que siguen las excavciones espero que cuando vuelva a ir .. cosa que hare lo mas pronto posible es que vere mas cosas ya desenterradas de las ruinas…
