We chose a private guided tour rather than a ship excursion and “I Would Definitely Recommend”
I had no interest in traveling to Turkey, but it was a stop on the Cruise….What a hidden wonder. Such beautiful country. Docking in Kusadasi and on to Ephesus. Historical and Biblical wonder of the world. Much more extensive than Athens. Baptismal vaults remaining in the ground. Temple of Zeus. Mary's home. So much more. This was awesome. Don't miss…
thank you so much for an amazing trip
a very enjoyable half day, would not hesitate to recommend this tour.
The House of Virgin Mary was truly magical.
Our Tour operator happend to plan our tour of Turkey in such a way that we got to visit this sacred site on Ascension Day- the day the Lady Marium was taken up to heaven.. Though we did not participate in the Eastern Orthodox and Catholic ceremonies, it is necessary that one dress tastefully- no bare shoulders, no short shorts….
Considered a holy site where Jesus' mother Mary, spent her years after Christ's death. There is a wall at the site, maybe 10-12ft across and about 7ft high where people have left notes of prayers and wishes.
The house is higher up the mountain from the ancient Ephesus site. The house sits in a lush, cool location with trees, flowers and singing birds all around. I don't think I was expecting such a peaceful setting, but once there you can't help but become more relaxed. The house has been rebuilt on its original foundation.
