Who knows whether it really was Mary's house but it's in a lovely area, nice ambience and well worth going to if you're visiting Ephesus.
After the Ephesus crowds, this is a smaller more intimate experinence in what is thought to be the Virgin Mary's house. The is a special aura and feeling…enjoy a few moments of solitude.
Fabulous, tranquil place. Can get very busy in the mornings and early afternoon with coach tours. Stick around and it will get quiet, then you can really enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the place. Well worth a visit and a prayer.
Set amidst a dense forest on a hilltop, this excellently maintained attraction provided the right balance between religion and tourist importance. Well worth the visit as an extension to Ephesus.
Our guide was so informative and he was very funny making our experience so enjoyable!
Its a small site, but preserved nicely. It was a moving experience I am not that religious. You can light a candle and leave a wish on the wishing wall. It was a lovely trip, but pair it with your trip to Ephesus I do not think you need to spend alot of time there. Do not go in morning…
After Ephesus this small area is a bit of an anticlimax though for those with a religious sensibility it may be meaningful and important.
our guide yesim efficiently guided us through the crowds making sure that our small group of 8 arrived before the larger buses thus allowing us to get the full experience. our lunch at the carpet school was both tasty and enlightening none of us actually understood the process of collecting silk or the painstaking job of making those beautiful works of art. We wish that we were there to purchase but not this time.
