You can book the tour on-line ahead of time, and you can pick and choose the sights you want to see. Dolmabahce Palace that was built for the Sultans after they felt the Topkapi became outdated. This is a stunning example of extravagant opulence which most tourist miss. It is the best palace I have seen. The exterior and interior features are so ornate and the locals take exceptional steps to maintain this wonder.
Hagia Sophia is a must place to visit while you are in Istanbul. It is one of the biggest chrches of Euro -Asia. Depicting the pristine architecturul heritage of the Roman ( Byzentine) empire. The Museum is a historical place .

Topkapi Palace was too large for me to see it all in the time I had. The mosaic tile work is beautiful. The architecture is pretty. There is a Large diamond on display in one of the buildings. I forgot to see it while I was there. I wish I hadn't missed it.
If you're going to visit Hagia Sophia and/or the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome will be on your way. Might as well stop by to take some pics.
