No doubt that our private Ephesus tour was a great must-do if anyone travels to this part of the world. But, today I would like to tell you guys about this gentleman we met at Kircilar, a leather center near Ephesus.
We had passed by this leather center on our way to Ephesus. Leather jackets, just my kind of stuff. Our guy Selcuk showed us there upon our request. I just love this spontaneity of indenpendent travel! Andy Garcia greeted us and a well-organized fashion show was presented to us. He carried a serious look that could fool you. However, he was actually really humorous and easygoing once a conversation started. The way he treated us was totally different from that of those in Istanbul Bazaars; such a comfortable atmosphere where we took our time checking jackets while sipping refreshing apple tea and chatting.
The subjects of our conversation ran from the current political situations in Turkey and in the world to what he had done in South Africa which happens to be the origin of my parents. No wonder I liked him at the first sight. I couldn’t believe it when he told me he used to sell creative sculpture works at a shopping mall in Johannesburg because I had bought one there. What a small world! I felt absolutely honored to finally meet the creator of this art work.
Of course, without realizing we bought a few fashionable jackets for us and our grwon-up children back home. Thanks to Andy Garcia, this was definitely the most relaxing shopping we had ever done during our trip. By the way, this gentleman’s real name is Kadir Tasci.
The private tour was by far one of the best we have ever had, great value for money… thanks so much for the great day and we hope to see you again.
