Antalya is a city on the Mediterranean coast of southwestern Turkey. It is Turkey’s biggest international sea resort, located on the Turkish Riviera.
In 2011 the city had a population of 964,886 and the metropolitan municipality 1,041,972. Antalya was the world’s fourth most visited city by number of international arrivals in 2011, with 10.5 million annual visitors. Most of these tourists were changing planes or moving between the airport and the cruise lines.
Antalya,
It was interesting but really crowded with tour groups. The walkways are steep and narrow so it's not ideal for young kids.
worst thing, bus going there from lara beach, stopped about forty times within five miles, took forever.got taxi back which was brilliant, like being in the French connection car chase, great fun.city itself was the turkey I knew from marmaris twenty year ago.shirts and jeans sold on pavements, horse carraiges waiting to tour round, lovely old marina whith fantastic boats and the people…
Marina is hectic. There are some great viewing areas and a path leading to a secluded small beach on the other side of tyhe harbour wall. You will be hounded to go on a boat trip up the coast. Its not bad for some decent pictures of the coast, but you will only do it once- that;s for sure. we…
I really liked this place, its a very very old town with all the roads made up of stones and rocks. So many options of shopping, eating, sea views, parks. love the weather, crowd, shopping, eating, greenery, harbor all in one place.
Didn't take too long to wander round (which my husband loved!) Not many stalls and little choice, HOWEVER, definately the place to get prezzies for folk at home!
Basically a two or three mile strip of pebbles of varying width. The further you go West from Antalya town the less developed and crowded it is.Every hundred yards or so there is a Portaloo like changing cubicle for the ladies. Toilets etc at intervals No bars or clubs at the Western end.I would guess 70% is free and accessible…
Nice bazaar, compact en do-able. Not to be compared with bazaars or soukh like Fez (Marocco). Diversity in products offered is limited but for some genuine fakes you will have the perfect oppertunity.
Very attractive, but similar to many others. Antalya is an attractive city well worth visiting, but take in the whole don't pick on one attraction.
A visit to the Antalya Bazaar provides the visitor with a cornucopia of shopping opportunities ranging from simple holiday souvenirs to elegant, hand-crafted collectable items.
Too commercialised – salesman in your face about buying – so much the same – not the part of Turkey that I really wanted to see – thought the restoration of the properties were good – some of the tiled floor was quite slippery.
