We had a great time and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this tour.
highly recommend..
If you are a Christian I can see that this place might be a place of pilgrimage. It does have some interest from a purely historical perspective. Jesus' mother is supposed to have lived here and some say also died here. The site itself is a little bare church so for us a pretty average experience.
Yes, this is a peacefull place… Yes, the nature around is lovely…. but other than that, it's hard to understand why so many people visit this place. There are no archeological evidence that show Virgin Mary lived here (the story is based on a dream about Virgin Mary that an Austrian nun had back in 18th century), so its spritiual…
We had a wonderful time and everything was a great.
We started the day by visiting Ephesus and went into the back entrance, which was incredibly smart because it meant we were going against the crowds and that we had the wonderful amphitheater mostly to ourselves. Our price included all entrance fees, including into the Terrace Houses, which were definitely a highlight of the day and the House of Virgin Mary.
We enjoyed our day, learned a lot, and felt the price to be very fair. Many on our cruise ship simply took Royal Caribbean’s shore excursion and missed out on several of the things we saw…
I arranged a tour before going on a Mediterrian cruise. We did an amazing tour of Ephesus and Sirence village with the lovely and incredibly knowledgeable guide. Thank you for a memorable and informative day!
Highly recommended I loved
Well worth the time. A beautiful setting and incredible place in history. It was one of the highlights of our trip.
The house is hidden in the mountains and there is no public transportation until there. You can reach Meryemana with a private tour or by taxi. There are plenty of Taxi going from Selcuk town. We found a taxi at the exit of Ephesus ancient city. We negotiated and he took us 50 lira for the taxi to Virgin Mary…
