In my opinion, this is the only way to see Ephesus. Would totally recommend this tour company to anyone visiting Ephesus. well worth the money
Done a day trip to ephesus, it really is amazing, and steeped in history. They are still uncovering ruins to this day. It gives you a real insight into time gone by.
Mary's house is a 15 minute drive from Selcuk further into the countryside up a scenic mountain roadway. When you arrive to the site you notice a calm, peaceful and a distinct herbal smell from the mountain which added to the feeling that this was a holy place. The interior of the house held religious relics. You can pray inside.Outside…
An ex-catholic and an ex-Lutheran go to visit Mary's house…. not the beginning of a good joke, but rather an uplifting and inspiring little place. Maybe it wa the elevation, maybe we were tired after Ephesusus, regardless, we found it both spiritual and culturally fascinating.
This was our favorite spot on the day tour of Ephesus.
SUCH peaceful, clean and serene surroundings.
BEAUTIFUL icon gift shops where proceeds go to support/maintain the shrine. Very fair prices.
It isn't something I would take a lot of time for, but I am glad I went. It is a bit of a walk after seeing all of the other things in Ephesus. However, you can take a shortcut to the exit than helps.
Thank you very much for the most wonderful day.
This is a low key sight. Nice to visit after the heat and bustle of Ephesus. They provide scarves to cover your shoulders and head for respect. Bring an empty water bottle to bring back water from her cistern.
