thank you so much for an amazing tripnks
This was just the best, to be at the very place that the Virgin Mary lived out her last years on earth. Such a peaceful place to be, and to celebrate mass and the holy rosary everyday was so spectacular.
On the whole Ephesus is a fantastic place to visit but my tour was disappointing due to a rushed timeline and missing attraction.
taty 🙂
well worth to visit, the terrace houses are interestin. loved ephesus itself.
Even if we accept that Virgin Mary stayed in this building according to the vision of a (?) nun, there is no clear evidence that Virgin Mary stayed there. That;s not the most annoying though, compared to the bazaar that it has turned into at its entrance, with people really hussling you to buy souvenirs and stuff from them.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and told us the best places to get photos of various things. At several attractions, he let us have time to ourselves to walk around.
I highly recommend getting your own, private tour with this company when you dock in Kusadasi. It’s much better than getting on a crowded bus and waiting for other people in your party.
In Izmir, we were picked up right at the cruise ship at the appointed time and boarded a large van for just the four of us. You can book the tour on-line ahead of time, and you can pick and choose the sights you want to see. Overall, more reasonable than the ship tours, and a lot more flexibility, this tour company is great.
Ephesus – the city established in 10 BC is a must visit for anyone having an interest in history. What is amazing is the way one can almost walk through the streets of the city and imagine how the city was organised in those time by seeing the ruins on both sides.
The site is surprisingly easy to access from Selcuk (5 km) or Kusadasi (15 km)
Be sure to take ample sun protection and water on the tour since one cannot get anything in the middle of the ruins,
