This place was very touching for my family and we were happy to have had the chance to visit this area. It is a beautiful hill top area that has lovely shaded vegetation and scenic vistas on your drive to the top. There is a place to light a candle and and a wall to leave prayer intentions..
We Just Wanted To Let You Know We Had A Wonderful Time. Ephesus Was Amazing !
Not much to the site itself beside the house, the fountains, and the shops. I liked it as a historical site but I'm not a very religious person. The taxi drive to the house cost more than admittance.
Great way to tour Ephesus. Total experience exceeded my expectations. Guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, lunch in restaurant at selcuk was included in cost and was very good salad, entree, and dessert plus wine included. Overall, it was a very relaxng and enjoyable day.
Ephesus was a great place to visit whe have a wonderful day.
You can just imagine being here 2000 years ago – once you have the long wait to view the chapel behind you.
I may be jaded, but I have seen a lot of holy sites around the world and this place felt contrived and way too touristy. The message I got was "Dine in our cafes, have a meal or a drink and use our exchange office in case the 45 minute wait is less than your tour operator estimated before you…
we had a great trip thank you very much
Being a Catholic I really enjoyed seeing where Mary lived. There was also a fountain where you could collect holy water to take with you. You can not take pictures inside the house itself. However, they do have a shrine set up and kneelers where you can pray. It's a quiet peaceful area.
This small stone home is perched on top of a hill immersed in a heavily wooded forest. It seems to be a pilgrimage site with thousands of messages written on material and attached to a stone wall at the base of the house.
